Ingredients (serves 4)
- 3 Tablsp Pineapple Juice
- 3 Tablsp Light Soft Brown Sugar
- 3 Tablsp Vinegar
- 3 Tablsp Tomato Puree
- 1 Tablsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Teasp Cornflour
- 6 Tablsp Water
Method
- Place all the ingredients except the cornflour and water in a saucepan. Stir well, heat gently until the sugar dissolves.
- Mix the cornflour with the water, add to the pan and stir until the sauce is smooth and thick.
- Simmer very gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve.
- Seasoning may be adjusted by adding additional sugar for sweetness orvinegar for sourness vegetables
- Toss it into stir-fried vegetables, chicken or pork just before serving
- A popular sauce to go with Chinese egg fried rice or with steamed / grilled
