Making Changes by Planning Goals

Planning and setting clear goals, can help us to make the changes we want to make.

  • Plan to make small changes which are 'doable' and which you stand a good chance of keeping going with for the long-term.
  • Aim to make no more than 1 - 3 small changes at any one time.

When planning goals we need to think about:

  • what exactly we want to do and  how we'll do it
  • what might get in our way, and what we'll do if this happens
  • how we'll reward ourselves once we've made the change
