

Ingredients (serves 4)
- 130g Green Split Peas (washed)
- 1 Litre of Boiling Water with 1 Vegetable or Ham Stock Cube
- 1 Onion (peeled and chopped)
- 2 Carrots (peeled and chopped or grated)
- 1 Small Turnip (peeled and chopped or grated)
Method
- Place all ingredients in a large pan and bring to the boil. Remove any thick scum that may have formed.
- Simmer for 1 hour until the peas are slightly mushy.
- Add more water if the soup is too thick and serve.
Yellow split peas may be substituted for the green split peas
