Key Chat Points
- Adults should aim to eat 30g of fibre per day
- Fibre is found in plant foods, so from the green and yellow sections of the Eatwell Guide
- Choose wholegrain varieites from the yellow section - they contain more fibre
- Eating the skins on fruit and vegetables increases your fibre intake.
- Fibre intake should be increased gradually - don't suddenly go from having very little to having lots
- Make sure you're drinking enough if you increase your fibre intake (otherwise you could end up with constipation)
