It's important to drink enough every day.
For adults the recommended daily amount is 2 - 3 pints, or 1.5 - 2 litres. This is roughly 6-8 cups or glasses.
Water, low fat milk, lower sugar or sugar-free diluting juices, teas, and coffees all count.
Smoothies and fruit juices also count but intake of these should be kept to a total of 150 mls in a day. This is because these drinks contain free sugars which add to your energy intake, and can also damage your teeth.
